Happy Spring Everybody!

Since our last newsletter so many things have happened. Pat Rutledge, Ed's Wife & Nat's Mom, was named Leavenworth's 46th Royal Lady of the Autumn Leaves. You can spot her on parade floats and at various royal functions during the upcoming year.

Kate had her baby on April 1st (No kidding) and we welcome Tristan into the Eagle Creek family. Ed has finished an extension on the deck in the patio area of the winery. We have also been working on having musical events at the winery this summer and will keep you posted via e-mail regarding dates and acts.

As for our tasting room in town (d'Vinery), we will hope to have outdoor sitting by June (permits permitting).

And now to the important stuff ... wine. We will be releasing 2 favorites, Montage and Adler Weiss. A couple of new wines will be released as well. Cabernet Franc, for its dedicated fans and Raspberry d'Vine, our first ever dessert wine.

As always, our family thanks you for your continued support,

Ed & Nat

The Wines

2007 Pinot Grigio
A zesty wine with lime tinged flavors of apricot and red grapefruit. The tangy acidity keeps it balanced and structured with mineral notes and a peppery finish. Here's a wine for the Thanksgiving table. This wine pairs well with turkey, salmon or most fish dishes where the fish is the primary flavor. We also found this to be one of the only wines that pairs successfully with cilantro strong salsa. Drink now through 2010. Serve chilled.

2008 White Riesling (Sweet)
A rich, opulent aroma with wild hints of pears, apricots and honeysuckle, finishing with a dry, long, rich aftertaste. Enjoy by itself or pair with spicy Asian food, particulary Thai. Also, good with pork (such as a tasty bratwurst.) Drink now through 2011.

Montage: Back by Popular Demand!2007 Montage
A rich blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It is fragrant and spicy with aromas of raspberry, ripe plum and wild berries. The smoky oak and peppercorn flavors give this blend a well-balanced and lasting finish. This wine pairs well with most Italian cuisine, particularly dishes where marinara is present. Also complements sausages, veal and chicken. Drink July 2009 through 2014.

2007 Chardonnay
Smooth and harmonious. Focused and dry with pear and fresh citrus scents, finished with a dash of toasty oak. We recently paired this wine perfectly with a plantain crusted chicken dish. Also good with most seafood dishes, especially ones with rich sauces, spices and strong herb flavors. Drink now through 2011. Serve moderately chilled.

2006 Syrah
Savory pomegranate and wild berry flavors dominate this spicy red. Lots of smoke and mineral notes too. Pair with asparagus, blue cheese, dry aged cheeses and of course, lamb. Drink now through 2013.

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
A distinctive richness that combines elegance and finesse, the ripe cherry and blackberry flavors are offset by a pleasant earthiness and finishing with smooth, fine-grained tannins. Try pairing with sirloin steak, garlic roasted chicken, or for something lighter serve with pasta and basil pesto. Drink now through 2014.

2007 Merlot
A delicate, well-proportioned style, highlighted by cedar and berry notes of moderate richness and concentration, and a lingering finish. This wine pairs naturally with red meats. It runs the gamut from rich chicken dishes, pork chops, short ribs all the way to filet mignon. Drink now through 2014.
